You are probably accustomed to hearing people say, “Think positively and you will feel better“. But unfortunately when you are “smack dab” in the midst of a crisis or battle or a high stress moment, the last thing you want to do is change your attitude and think of positive things. Something inside us doesn’t like to be told what to do, even if it is our own mind!

Do you remember when you were younger and your parents told you to clean your room…you knew it was messy and you knew you had to clean it, but the more they pestered you, the less you were going to clean that room. Why do we resist oursleves so much?

I know  for me, when I have to sit down and get something accomplished I often hear that inner voice of resistance. It starts screaming at me halfway through my projects.

If western union turkey eskisehir you perused through my house, you may see a broom or vaccuum hanging out because after I finished cleaning, I had a resistance to completing the job, so I leave the  broom and the vacuum out!

Yes, this is a silly example but the point is, we all deal with an internal struggle. Just because I run this blog does not mean I have mastered these techniques. But what I can tell you is they work. Your thoughts affect your reality whether you feel it or not. We often think feelings create thought but in actuality, our thoughts give way to new feelings, whether constructive or destructive.

When you are stuck in a negative pattern, th

ink of a positive thought. It doesnt have to be anything weird, just something that makes you h western union sri lanka pothuvil appy, either real or imagined. You wont feel like thinking it or even want to do it, but if you harness your will power and focus on a positive thought for long enough you will soon forget about the negativity or at least lessen its effects.

Its even more effective if you verbally speak the positive thought because its difficult for your brain to think of one thing and verbally speak another.

The more you exercise your brain to think positively, the easier it will become.

Let’s join together and start changing our thoughts…and then maybe I can finally put away the broom after I am done cleaning!

How can you help to change your negative thoughts?

Heard great advice from the podcast Sounds True (forgot which episode) that says to ask yourself the question, “Who feels this way?” during times of negativity. Do not answer. Works great for me, sometimes i can actually feel my nerves/noise in the head reside like turning off a boiling kettle. The point is to more or less allow yourself to observe the emotion and reason through what you do and do not want to associate yourself with. In my case, i sometimes worry excessively and find myself stressing over extremely mundane things. Asking myself who is feeling this way is like a quick route to the realization that feeding into these feelings/negative thoughts is what is creating them in the first place. Like being addicted to a drug called self-defeat. Much love to anyone who reads this ;)
